Eligibility requirements: Basic mathematical or quantitative science (physics, biology) background

Aims:

To develop mathematical and numerical computing skills required for data analysis and modelling in neuroscience and biology

To create an exemplary code (Jupiter notebook) for basic data analysis

To be able to program a data analysis pipeline such as to automatically process batches of data files

To develop interaction between students and researchers.

 Programme:

Mathematical prerequisites (linear algebra and signal processing)

Introduction to Python programming and numerical computing

Mini-project: analysis of songbird early vocalizations audio recordings (processing, visualization, discrimination/categorization).

Teaching method:

Pair programming for the mini-project

Lecture for maths pre-requisites and introduction to programming

For the remote training, a zoom link will be sent to the students.

Duration:

One week: 5 days of 2x3h: 30h
